Thank you for your understanding that Darby Acres Farm is a small family with huge hearts for animals and animal education. Your scheduled tour helps our mission, and we are so very grateful for your support. If we are unable to answer your call, it is because we are on the other line assisting with another call, out in the field with the animals, or are working with an already scheduled tour.

We utilize low-cost or no cost scheduling software so that the most can go to the animals and not administrative fees. For this reason, we kindly request that you visit our "What We Offer" page prior to calling, to assist us in lowering our administrative fees! 1.) Cancellations

**Tour Cancellations**
Weather Cancellation (3 Hour Notification Required) *Our tours are rarely canceled and continue rain or shine. If we cancel a tour due to unsafe weather conditions (lightning, high wind, ice) we will notify you by text 2 hours prior to the tour. If you do not receive text notification from us, the tour is not canceled. We understand that not everyone would like to participate in the rain, however most people still join us on rainy days too, dressed in their raincoats and mud boots! If you decide you would like to cancel due to the weather forecast, you must notify us by text at 704-738-4444, A MINIMUM 3 HOUR NOTICE IS REQUIRED, and there will be a $20 cancellation charge that will be taken out of your reschedule redemption code value.

**48-hour cancellation request**: Please remember that if you need to cancel/reschedule the activity for any reason, other than weather, A MINIMUM 48 HOUR NOTICE IS REQUIRED, and there will be a $20 cancellation charge that will be taken out of your reschedule redemption code value.

After proper cancellation procedures have been met, you will be sent an e-mail with a reschedule redemption code within 5-7 business days following your scheduled tour time.

2.) Your tour guide will open the gate 5 minutes prior to scheduled tour times. Text ONLY if it is less than 5 minutes prior to your tour time and your tour guide is not present at the gate.

3.) Request for additional tickets. (3 Hour Notification Required) * To allow tour guides to stay on schedule, we kindly request that you do not arrive with additional guests that are not a part of your prepaid reservation. If you would like to add additional guests, please text 704-738-4444, a minimum of 3 hours prior to your scheduled tour time to ask for your credit card on file to be charged for any additional people. (Please be sure to be ready to confirm the last 4 digits of your credit card.) Because we have a limit on tour group sizes, and have a schedule we must keep with, we may not be able to approve additional guests as it may over-lap into our next tour time.

1) At this time, we are not offering Birthday Parties at the Farm. Please check back with us after summer!

2.) At this time, we are not traveling with the animals to birthday parties or small events. Please check back with us in the fall.

3.) We do not offer horseback riding or trail rides.

4.) Surrender & Re-Homing requests must be made online HERE.

5.) We are unable to take in Dogs, Cats or Wildlife Animals.

7.) Tour dates are added one week in advance. (Monday evening / Tuesday morning) If we are able to, we will add tour dates as far out as we possibly can; all tour dates are dependent on staff availability.

8.) Animal encounters can only be added to the "Safari Friends Walking Tour". Each animal encounter price is per person and is added on to the $20 General Admission price. You can only purchase an animal encounter with the purchase of a "Safari Friends Walking Tour" general admission ticket. We do not offer tickets for solely an animal encounter.

9.) We are located in Charlotte, NC 28216 near 485 at HWY 16. Our location is private, and you will receive the exact location address after scheduling your tour. The farm and safari are located one street apart.

USDA Licensed:

This means that our animals are certified as healthy, and all required vaccinations are up to date. The quarters for the animals are inspected for cleanliness and safety. USDA inspection occurs regularly, so that you may be assured of a healthy, well cared for, and tame traveling petting zoo for your event. Darby Acres Farm exceeds all USDA requirements for our animal's care, nutrition, transportation, cleanliness and living. You may be surprised to learn that all businesses that have animals for parties, or to be shown to the public must be licensed and monitored by the USDA. This means we are subject to pop inspections on our farm and in the field to be sure our animals are being properly cared for and are healthy.
